Modern realism:

Since 1970s the term "modern realism" is commonly used to refer to artists practicing realistic art in modern techniques. In a sense, it laid the groundwork for artists who painted realistically to be seen as modern and innovative. And despite the fact that the abstract-avant-garde-conceptual approach temporarily dominates in modern art, arts written in a realistic manner are perceived as more valuable and timeless.
